ERAs Conference Speakers


Keynote Speaker

Dr. Adam Sáenz earned his Ph.D. in School Psychology from Texas A&M University as a United States Department of Education doctoral fellow.  He completed clinical training under a fellowship appointment to Harvard Medical School, and he has a post-doctorate in clinical psychology from the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Sáenz also earned a Doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Graduate Theological Foundation with residency at Christ Church college of Oxford University.


He currently serves as the C.E.O. of the Applied EQ Group, the counseling and assessment clinic he founded in 2003. He also serves as a consulting psychologist in the Texas A&M College of Medicine and the Texas A&M Department of Athletics.


Dr. Sáenz has authored multiple titles, including the best-selling, The Power of a Teacher and Relationships That Work. His most recent release, The EQ Intervention, was an Amazon best-seller that won the Independent Publisher Association gold medal in psychology.


Dr. Sáenz and his wife, Kim, have been married 28 years. They have four adult children (Alisa, Mya, Isaiah, and Andrew) and three grandchildren.


Alesha Brandt is a dynamic speaker, registered trainer, and passionate leader in early childhood education and operations. With over 15 years of experience, she specializes in leadership development, classroom management, and empowering educators through engaging, hands-on professional development. Her expertise in operations and strategic leadership has helped organizations cultivate strong teams, streamline processes, and create impactful learning environments.  She currently serves as the Director of Operations for Adventure Kids Playcare and the 1st Vice President for the Texas Licensed Childcare Association!

Beyond education, Alesha’s background in social services has fueled her commitment to advocating for children and families. She also channels her passion through All The Things, a platform dedicated to empowering women to step boldly into their best selves. Believing that joy is found at the intersection of confidence, mindset, and action, she inspires educators and leaders to embrace growth, celebrate victories, and lead with purpose—both in and out of the classroom.

With a deep love for coaching, leadership, and community building, Alesha brings energy, authenticity, and inspiration to every training she leads.


Vickey M. Burton (Texas Registry # 1180) is an "educarer" who desires to reach the exceptional needs of all children and their families. Vickey is a known speaker (registered with the TECECDS trainer registry) with 22 + years of childcare ministry experience as a speaker, trainer, Children’s Choir Director and church nursery child care provider. She has a passion to minister to children, families and teachers. Vickey has a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Education) Degree in Early Childhood Development from Wayland Baptist University and has completed her master’s in special education (ECE) from Wayland Baptist University. Her greatest joy is her love of and service to Jesus Christ and her many children and their families.


Cheryl Carey has over three decades of dedicated experience in the fields of child protection and early childhood care and education. She is a Child Care Health Consultant with a profound commitment to ensuring the health, safety and well-being of young children, Cheryl has established herself as a professional in the early childhood field.

As a TECPDS Master Level 3 Trainer #1947, Cheryl brings a wealth of knowledge, skill and experience to her consultancy practice. She specializes in customized services and engaging trainings that empower and equip early childhood professionals to provide care that supports the growth, development and learning of young children. In addition, Cheryl has knowledge of resources, regulations, and best practices.

Cheryl offers trainings on a variety of early childhood topics, health and safety inspections to meet regulatory compliance, risk management consulting, emergency preparedness consulting and other quality improvement initiatives.



Emily Correa has been passionate about children and families for most of her life and has been uniquely involved in the education and business side of the child care and activities industries for over 10 years. She is currently leading the Marketing team at Jackrabbit Technologies, parent company of Jackrabbit Class, Dance, Swim, and Care editions.


Brandy Crumley has been in the early childhood education field for over 30 years. She has held every position in a preschool including toddler teacher, bus driver, curriculum director and center director. She worked with various types of programs varying and financial institutions including private owned, corporate owned, franchise owned and non-profit. She helped many schools achieve academic accreditation by TRS, NAEYC, and even worked directly for NAC. She understands every school is unique and has individual goals based on many factors. She believes in meeting all professionals where they are and values others individual experience.


Zona Dargan  Dedicated Early Childhood Education Leader since 1982. Passionate about empowering early educators with the tools and knowledge necessary to creating nurturing and stimulating environments. Frequently speak at Texas Rising Star Conferences. In addition to speaking engagements, I currently hold the following certifications: ITSN Specialist, CDA Professional Development Specialist, Certified Employee Performance Coach, TECPDS Validator and Licensed Director.


Katie Davis  With over 10 years in SaaS, including 4+ years in Ed Tech, Katie is an experienced multi-faceted marketer who specializes in helping leaders in ECE and K-12 expand their footprints and improve outcomes with software.

Bethene (Beth) Edwards MS. Brings over 35 years of experience in Early Childhood Education.  As a dedicated play advocate, trainer and conference presenter, Beth is passionate about  fostering best practices in play-based learning, connecting children to nature and designing  unique indoor and outdoor environments to spark curiosity and wonder. Currently she serves as
the Outdoor Learning Environment Early Childhood Education Network Manager with Texas Children in Nature Network. She is a Texas registered trainer, Texas Childcare Health Consultant, and an OLE! Texas Certified Playground Designer. Beth believes in protecting and preserving early childhood as a time for self-discovery, joy and wonder as children learn about
the world around them.


Kobe Flemming is a dedicated Out-of-School Time professional serving as the Senior Program Manager at Clayton Youth Enrichment, where he leads and oversees the development and implementation of youth-focused programs that aim to empower, educate, and inspire the leaders of tomorrow. With over 10 years of experience in youth services and program management, Kobe is passionate about creating safe, supportive, and enriching environments for youth to thrive. In his current role, Kobe is responsible for managing a diverse program portfolio that includes after-school activities, in-service and summer camps, full-day enrichment, and community outreach. He works closely with a dynamic team of educators, program leaders, and community partners to ensure that all programs are delivered effectively and align with the organization's mission. Kobe holds a Public Health degree from Baylor University, which has geared his expertise in program design and evaluation, staff development, and grant management. As a committed advocate for youth, he continually explores innovative approaches to address the evolving needs of the youth he aims to serve.


Noah Galvin  For the last 3+ years, Noah has assisted childcare centers simplify their operations with Kindertales. With a mix of customer success, sales, and operations experience, he loves finding practical solutions that help businesses run smoother.


Teddie Gamel is a dedicated early childhood education professional with over 25 years of experience. As Regional Director for The Pillars Christian Learning Centers, she supports leaders and educators in providing high-quality care and education for children.Teddie is a member of the Texas Early Childhood Trainer Registry. Teddie is very passionate about early childhood education and enjoys training and networking with other ECE professionals.


Dr. Carolyn Bobb Green is an early childhood development expert that has created innovative play-based workshops and a preschool curriculum that has been adopted by schools and child care centers nationwide. Heather Hardesty is the current Owner and CEO of Kinderdance Austin and Kinderdance Brazos County. Ms. Hardesty is an area developer in the Austin area and has run a successful franchise for 21 years. Heather has danced since the age of 3 and hasn’t ever stopped! Her first teaching gig was at age 16 and from that day found a love in teaching others. She is a yearly presenter at the annual Kinderdance conference and throughout the year contributes new ideas to the franchise system so that other franchisees may grow their businesses as well. In the past 2 years she has been invited to present at various local and state conferences. With a degree in public relations and dance from Texas Tech University, Ms. Hardesty has been successful over the years in bringing awareness to the early childhood community of the importance of dance and movement to the growth and development of the young child. Her franchise currently has over 600 children and is taught in over 50 locations. Heather attends numerous continuing education conferences and dance conventions during the year to keep up with the current trends in the field. In her spare time, Heather volunteers in her community and loves spending time with her husband of 25 years and their daughter Hallie who is 18 years old and living her best life away at college.



Natasha Harris is the Founder, Presenter & Executive Owner of Integrity Training & Professional Services. She has an Associate’s Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Natasha has also completed Master classes toward Organizational Leadership and Early Childhood Education for Childcare Administrators and Leaders.  

In 2008, Natasha officially opened Integrity Training & Professional Services, which offers, professional development courses to business owners in every industry. She also provides Staff & Administrative trainings and specializes in Business Compliance, Leadership Development, Professional Administration, Effective Communication, Vision and Purpose planning & implementation, Ethics/Integrity, Reflective Leadership, Staff Development and Professionalism in the Corporate setting, deficiency compliance planning and so much more.

Integrity Training is also an approved credentialing organization with Childcare Licensing to provide Texas Director Credential Courses. As of 2023, Natasha has credentialed over 100 new directors and mentor numerous owners and directors across United States. She is a Coach, Mentor and Consultant to many industry leaders, staff, new centers and current owners/directors. The purpose of the nonprofit is to connect families to nature through community events. Natasha also began Tarrant County Professional Childcare Association in 2017. This association is a faith-based network for home and small center leaders to encourage one another while they learn how to be successful in their childcare facilities.

Natasha is a keynote presenter for various Childcare Associations, Conferences, Workshops, Head Start Organizations, Licensed Centers and Home Providers, Texas Workforce Commission, Workforce Solutions and has presented for the DFW Childcare Licensing Pathways to Excellence Annual Conference for over 5 years. Dr. Ronilda Henson is an accomplished educator, advocate, and leader with expertise spanning early childhood to graduate education. She is a master trainer for the Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System (TECPDS), an external specialist trainer for Infant and Toddler programs at the Children’s Learning Institute (CLI, UTH), and a Technical Assistance Consultant for Texas Healthy Building Blocks (Texas A&M, AgriLife Extension). She actively engages in community and professional leadership, serving as a founding board member of the Texas Early Childhood Educational Consultant Network (TECECN) and as a board member of Agape Christian Academy and the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC-Southmost)—all nonprofit organizations committed to advancing early childhood and special education. Her passion for empowering educators and fostering inclusive education continues to create a lasting impact.

DD Hutson  Hi! I am an Early Childhood Professional, I began working in the field over 28 years ago. I am a registered trainer with TECPDS and I have a permanent director license in Texas. I began as a three year old teacher and eventually gained the experience of all ages in Early Childhood. I found myself passionate about teaching preschoolers about Jesus, music, art, science and all things nature! I became an assistant director and thereafter a director of a Methodist preschool in Van, Texas. It was those positions that I began my walk toward professional development. I also love writing jingles for preschools and preparing preschool performances from the music line up to the decorations, and marketing to help bring value and business to centers! I now travel, train and own a licensed childcare.

Tracy Anne Jones,   Assistant Director, Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System

Tracy Anne Jones’ professional focus is improving the quality of early childhood through professional development of early childhood professionals. Her areas of interest include: professional development, continuous improvement, high quality initiatives, project management, and strategic implementation.

Tracy Anne Jones is an Assistant Director for Texas School Ready, within Texas State Initiatives at the Children’s Learning Institute (CLI). Dr. Jones supports the technology, service delivery, and operations for the Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System (TECPDS) that provides support to over 65,000 early childhood providers throughout Texas.

The TECPDS platform was developed through a joint project of the Texas Head Start State Collaboration Office (THSSCO) and the Texas Early Learning Council (TELC). Housed in CLI at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), TECPDS is one of several statewide programs managed by CLI to support the early childhood system, including programs, professionals, and families across the state, as part of its role as the Texas State Center for Early Childhood Development. TECPDS launched in 2013 and continues to expand and enhance professional development opportunities, resources, and tools for early childhood professionals.

Dr. Jones is a proven leader in the field of early childhood with over 30 years of experience in the field of early childhood education. She has progressed in the field, and served in various senior level operational roles and serves on numerous state and national boards.

Education Dr. Tracy Anne Jones received her BA degree in psychology, master’s degree in education, and doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on early childhood education from the University of Houston.


Chrissy Kidd is one of the Associate Director of Programs at Clayton Youth Enrichment, where she has been helping lead the development and implementation of innovative programs since 2022. With 25 years of experience in Out of School Time programming, Chrissy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role, ensuring high-quality enrichment opportunities for youth. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Texas and is committee to creating supportive and engaging environments for children to learn and grow. Chrissy's dedication to youth development continues to inspire positive change in the communities she serves.



Sarina Laurel  As a seasoned health educator and community builder, Sarina bridges theory and practice to foster healthy beginnings. She collaborates with cross-sector leaders to build communities where positive early relationships are celebrated and sustained. Today, she brings an easy, joyful approach to recognizing and uplifting the powerful impact of everyday interactions in child care settings.


Traci Mackintosh, M.A. Ed. has been a dedicated professional in the early childhood education industry since 1995, serving in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, Assistant Director, Director, multi-school Director of Education, Executive Director, Health and Safety Specialist, and TLCCA Board Member. Her extensive experience in early childhood centers and schools, along with her involvement in the TLCCA organization, has provided her with invaluable insights from industry leaders and a platform to advocate for excellence in early childhood education.

Throughout her career, Ms. Mackintosh has been committed to supporting educators, guiding parents, and staying at the forefront of industry advancements—all with the ultimate goal of making a meaningful impact on children's lives. Her practical and realistic approach to training ensures that those she works with can bridge the gap between best practices and real-world application, empowering teachers, caregivers, and administrators to deliver their best.

As an accomplished Assistant Superintendent and seasoned educator, she has been instrumental in cultivating resilient workforces and spearheading growth initiatives that have transformed educational landscapes.

Dr. Martinez's academic prowess is underscored by her Doctorate in Educational Leadership, through which she has conducted pivotal research on the attrition rates of Head Start teachers. Her findings shed light on the critical role of center director preparedness, offering actionable insights to address this pressing issue within early childhood education, which led to a published work, Stability At The Start.

Passionate about empowering educators and elevating educational standards, Dr. Martinez travels nationwide, delivering comprehensive early childhood and leadership training to Head Start programs. Her dynamic workshops are designed to inspire and equip educators with the tools necessary to thrive in their roles.

Beyond her educational contributions, Dr. Martinez is also a proud leadership consultant and Air Force veteran, bringing a unique perspective and disciplined approach to her work. Dr. Amanda McElroy has been the Director of the Greater Waco Early Education Center in Waco, Texas, since 2014. Amanda is a dynamic leader and visionary, renowned for her impactful contributions to leadership development and early childhood training. As the founder of Courage and Grace Leadership and Heartbeat Productions Training, Dr. McElroy has been a pioneering force in crafting innovative curricula, providing expert training, and delivering inspirational speeches since 2015.


Topher McKee brings a strong background in education and technology— with 6 years of teaching and admin experience. Now at Kindertales, he focuses on building intuitive tools that enhance early childhood education management.


Danielle Millman is the President and COO of The Pillars, where educators and leaders are committed to fostering children’s growth in loving and meaningful ways, ensuring a positive impact that lasts a lifetime. Danielle also serves as an executive officer on the Georgia Child Care Association Board of Directors. Ms. Millman has been a speaker at several conferences and education events for teachers, directors, and school owners. Danielle has most recently won the 2023 Vision Builder- Women of Inspiration Award. Previously, she won the- Georgia Titan 100 award for 2022 recognizing her as a visionary leader in the ECE industry. Prior to The Pillars, Danielle was the President of Otter Learning, where she built a first-class team and together grew the organization from 17 schools to 67 schools across multiple southeastern states. Before joining Otter Learning, Danielle was the Chief Growth and Experience Officer at Endeavor Schools. In this role and in her previous role as Chief Operating Officer she helped grow the company’s portfolio from 3 schools to over 70 schools in just 8 years. After leading operations for her first 7 years at Endeavor, she shifted her focus to growth and experience, including identifying and integrating new schools while maintaining the culture, values, and care of people that Danielle is known for in the industry. In 2021, Danielle was able to lead the team to their greatest growth year in the history of the organization, writing the company’s integration playbook, launching a formal training program, and facilitating the acquisition and successful integration of 19 schools and 1 enrichment company. Prior to Endeavor Schools, Ms. Millman was the Regional Vice President of Operations at a large post-secondary education company covering the South, Midwest, and East coast. Ms. Millman was responsible for overseeing the operations of 15 colleges and universities and supporting students, staff, and faculty for 3 years. Before joining Corinthian Colleges, Danielle worked at another large education group, Career Education Corporation, in a leadership capacity for 10 years. Starting as an academic leader, she was promoted to Corporate Director of Compliance supporting programmatic, state, regional, and national accreditation. She also led licensing, internal audits, and training across the organization for faculty, staff, and leadership. She then spent several years as a Campus President responsible for the operation of a large, allied health College. Her role was later expanded to oversee their southeast region as the Vice President of Operations. Ms. Millman formally began her education career at George Washington University over 20 years ago as an adjunct professor in allied health courses. In addition to working as a professor, Danielle was specifically trained to facilitate workshops in leadership, communication, and coaching for staff early in her career. She has also spent years acquiring industry leading knowledge and expertise. Danielle is a passionate advocate of early childhood education and is dedicated to professional development and training of all individuals in the field to ensure children receive the best foundational academic experience possible. Ms. Millman started her formal career in education as an adjunct Professor at George Washington University teaching allied health courses. Danielle worked in the medical field for many years prior to joining the education industry full time. She received a B.S. in Health Sciences, and graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University in Washington DC. Danielle has completed graduate coursework in Learning and Development, change management, training, leadership, and coaching. In addition, she has completed specialty facilitator training in brain development for early childhood educators. She currently resides in Georgia with her husband, children and family dogs.


Laura Nelson is an accomplished Director of Academic Development with 23 years of experience in early childhood education. A devoted wife and mother of four, Laura holds a master’s degree in early childhood studies focusing on Administration, Leadership, and Management. Her career journey has encompassed roles as a teacher, assistant director, center director, regional director, and mentor, all of which have fueled her passion for making a meaningful, generational impact in early childhood education.

With a deep commitment to nurturing children and educators, Laura has led several early childhood education teams, created comprehensive professional development programs, and trained educators in varous settings. She is a registered Texas trainer who fosters compassion, integrity, and development in learning environments. Through her work, Laura empowers educators to build supportive, culturally relevant classrooms that promote social-emotional growth, encourage family engagement, and champion best practices in child development. Guided by her Christian values, Laura is on a mission to strengthen early childhood education, believing that the real legacy lies in the relationships built and the positive influence on young lives.


Dr. Robin Pearson, EdD  Robin received her Doctorate from Creighton University in Interdisciplinary Educational Leadership in 2018 and National Honor Society Member. Her dissertation was: Investigating Understanding and Facilitation of Social Emotional Development at a Diverse Socio-Economic Status YMCA Preschool. She is a 2020 Fellow Graduate in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopment and Related Disabilities Interdisciplinary Training Program from University of Southern California, LA Children’s Hospital. Collaborative interdisciplinary training focused on improving the health of children through the Association of University Centers on Disabilities. Policy Project: Access to evidence-based mental health treatment for infants and toddlers.

Robin is a Certified Special Education Teacher in both California and Texas with over 10 years of classroom experience. She was the Intake Director for a pediatric clinic in California conducting interdisciplinary assessments and servicing young children with developmental delays. Dr. Pearson served as the Executive Director of the non-profit Shorkey Center in Southeast Texas. The Center provides clinical pediatric therapy, ABA non-public School, inclusive preschool, afterschool, and parent training for families needing support for children with disabilities. Robin has a master’s degree in kinesiology and a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy. As the Shorkey ED, Robin fostered programs for children with special needs in dance, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, adaptive cycling, and a number of special event opportunities.

Robin has a rich history in gymnastics. She is a USAG National Instructor and Co-author of USAG Brain & Body to serve children with special needs, and Hands on Management. She is a clinician and lecturer for Regional, National, and private programs. Robin is dedicated to the growth and development of children, families, and to those that provide special services.


Anna Raumaker is a Project Specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. She has over 25 years of experience in early childhood as a teacher, director, consultant, and trainer. She loves helping teachers and children get outside and play more.

Melissa Ply is an Early Education Specialist who has presented at local, state, and national conferences for early childhood professionals working with infants to school-age children in a variety of settings to support quality initiatives. She received a B.S. in Special Education: Learning Disabilities, a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M. Ed in Early Childhood Education. Melissa has years of experience as a Training and Curriculum Specialist and Child Care Center Director with Air Force and Navy Child and Youth Programs, a PreK teacher, a family home day care provider, and is a CDA Professional Development Specialist. She was awarded Trainer of the Year from Austin AEYC and is a past Secretary for the board of the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children. 


Chelsea Reue is a dynamic speaker with over a decade of experience as a successful childcare business owner and child care sales specialist. Known for her engaging presentations, Chelsea shares practical insights on financial management, branding, enrollment growth, and automation, empowering childcare leaders to achieve lasting success.


Paris L. Robertson is the Associate Director of Programs at Clayton Youth Enrichment, where he has been a Senior program development coach. With over 10 years of experience in training, public speaking, and program management, Paris has a strong background in developing impactful training programs that support educators, managers, and center leaders in creating growth-oriented, supportive environments for children and staff alike. Paris holds certifications in professional life coaching and CPR/First Aid instructor and is dedicated to fostering resilient, visionary teams that drive long-term success in educational and community-based settings.


Tim Seute   During his career, Tim excelled in sales, corporate development, and partner management across various industries, including government contracts, financial modeling, M&A, and investor relations. Now the CRO for kindertales, Tim focuses on strategic business relationships and expanding market share.


Jennifer Stockemer, M.S. - Doctoral Candidate in Family Studies, is an experienced early childhood educator and researcher with a strong academic and practical background in child development. She holds a master’s degree in child development. She owns and operates a thriving preschool, where she integrates her expertise into daily practices to foster young children's growth.

In addition to her leadership role, Jennifer teaches Early Childhood Development and Family Studies courses at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. She enjoys guiding future professionals in understanding the complexities of family dynamics and early learning. Her research focuses on critical aspects of family and child interactions, aiming to enhance educational practices and family engagement strategies.

Jennifer is also an active contributor to the academic community, having presented her research at local, regional, and national conferences. Her work centers on the intersection of early childhood education and family studies, sharing insights that benefit practitioners and researchers alike. Through her research, teaching, and hands-on experience, she continues to positively impact the field of early childhood development and family studies.


Kristy Thornton is one of the most sought-after consultants / trainers in early childhood education. She has 30 years’ experience as a teacher, director, owner-operator, trainer, consultant, and business broker representing buyers and sellers, alike. She was #1 in sales for the DFW market and Region for Keller Willaims Commercial division and serves as a full-time business broker and commercial agent, ranking in the top 1% nationwide.

Audrey Walker  Hello! I’m Audrey Walker, the Shared Service Alliance Business Coach for Travis county. My experience, education, and passion are in early childhood. I’ve been working in the early childhood community here in Austin for about 10 years. I’ve worked as a director, advocate, and teacher, providing me with a deep understanding of the challenges early childhood centers face. I enjoy being able to support, encourage, and provide resources for directors in our community!


ReShaun Webb is a dynamic leader in Early Childhood Education with extensive experience as an educator, coach, and trainer. Holding a master’s degree in Early Childhood and Adult Education, ReShaun is renowned for her expertise in creating meaningful learning experiences for educators and providers across the childcare industry. She is an accomplished Early Childhood coach and has trained professionals throughout Texas and beyond, including recent impactful work with Head Start Region 2 in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
